At Swanbourne House, the children develop self-confidence and learn to study independently. They have a lively interest in their academic subjects and interests beyond the School. They are courteous, caring and responsive, as evidenced by all of the Inspectors who visit us. More than that, they are young people with a strong moral framework who have begun to understand Christian teaching, love, forgiveness and concern for others. A special feature of the School is International Education for Senior Pupils, where they learn about the culture, needs and etiquettes of many nations.

Staff who meet pupils after they have left us find that the young people our pupils become are open, friendly and self possessed. As young people they are comfortable to engage in conversation, to take the opportunities that their senior Schools provide or that life has given them, and lay great store on the happy and fulfilled education that they had throughout their time at Swanbourne House.  Many of them become Heads of House and Senior Prefects in Public School.

“I have not previously written to Prep School Heads... because I have not previously been so impressed by a group of boys and girls as I was by your quintet at the weekend. What marked them out was their awareness of what they could do to make the event better through a little service, their willingness to put this into action and their demonstration of genuine appreciation. They were unusually selfless and appreciative, a tremendous credit to their schools and families. They did well in the competition but in terms of being responsible citizen and genuine people, they were the outright winners by a long way.” Mark Piper Headmaster: Gordonstoun
