Swanbourne House School

Our Boarding House is in the main school building and is run by Mr and Mrs Nelson-Lucas who live in the Boarding House.

The School prides itself on creating a family atmosphere where the children feel happy and safe. The boarding staff are caring and experienced in the needs of long-distance/overseas children plus we have daily assistance from qualified nurses who assist the School Doctor.

We have children from local, national, international backgrounds and from the Services, Foreign Office and ‘ex-pat’ families.
Children can decide to board from the Transitionals (7 to 8 year olds) upwards.

We have flexible boarding arrangements to meet your and your children’s needs wherever possible, we have children who are:

• bed and breakfast boarders i.e. they board for a night or a couple of nights every now and again or on regular weekly basis
• weekly boarders who go home on a Saturday after school/their match and return on a Sunday night
• full boarders who board during all school term

We encourage boarding during the pupils’ top two years at Swanbourne House, especially if they are moving on to a boarding school. However, most of the pupils in the senior years board because they enjoy the live-in learning and all of the activities.
