The children’s focus is either their class or their House, depending on the activity. Each form has registration with their tutor and also a weekly Personal and Social Education session. The tutor encourages every pupil to do their best in the classroom and also to take part in other activities. Competitions are run across the four Houses and each term there is a dinner for the winning House.
All Top Year pupils are Seniors who take part in a Prefect Duty Team. Prefects are chosen after considering every pupil by name, after Leadership Training Events and reviews of pupil conduct. Not every pupil becomes a prefect, but everyone is in a duty team and is offered Leadership Training. There are also monitor opportunities for Computers, Chapel and Charity, or the School Newspaper, so everyone is recognised for the talents they have. For acts of helpfulness and service, pluses are awarded which build up into a book token prize, if pupils have made a significant contribution.
