Art trip to Bloxham School

On Tuesday art pupils from Swanbourne were excited to attend an Art Workshop day at Bloxham School.

For the first part of the workshop, the children used special cutters (that were used in the making of the poppies that featured in the 2018 public art exhibition The Tower of London Poppies) and made six clay poppies each. The poppies will be used as part of an art installation during Sculpture at Kingham Lodge between Friday 8 – Sunday 17 May. As part of Oxfordshire Artweeks, all the poppies made on the day by the pupils will be glazed purple and crafted into a sculpture of a spitfire.

We’re looking forward to seeing the pupils’ work in the exhibition!
