What a wonderful event our Family Golf Day was. With families joining us throughout the day to tee off, it was a fantastic turnout, from young beginners picking up a club for the first time to more experienced golfers sharing tips and encouragement.

The Summer Term marks the start of the cricket season, with the sound of bat on ball across the Upper School.

With matches scheduled throughout the term for boys, girls and mixed teams, we’re looking forward to an exciting season, and it’s great to see so much Swanbourne Spirit out on the pitch!

The trophy stays at Swanbourne House! A different group of boys, but the same brilliant outcome as we retain the MKPS 5‑a‑side title this year.

The football team played six matches in the recent MKPS tournament, winning five, showing outstanding teamwork, determination and real quality throughout the event.

Every player gave it their all, putting skills learned in lessons into practice, and approaching each match with resilience, sportsmanship and respect.

U11s excel at ISFA Regional Competition

Congratulations to our U11 Swanbourne House football team, who delivered an outstanding performance at the ISFA Regional Competition, finishing top of their group across eight games.

The team now heads to St George’s Park in May to compete in the national finals.

This is an incredible achievement and their second national finals appearance this season.

We are immensely proud of our team!

Good luck to them as they prepare for the next stage!

February is Chase month! On day one of the Chase, where years 3 and 4 competed against other schools, we experienced non-stop rain that turned already-muddy tracks into a slippery bogs and slopes. On day two where the older years competed, we enjoyed a brief morning of sunshine with due optimism before the heavens once again opened! In spite of cold, wet conditions, our pupils did us proud, tackling the route with sheer grit and determination. We call this Swanbourne Spirit.

The routes varied slightly depending on the age groups. The younger pupils started at the top of the golf course, down to the bottom sports fields, up through the woods and onto C Lawn for the triumphant finish. The older pupils started with a circuit of the field beyond the ha-ha, running up behind the woods, all the way to the sports fields and through the woods with a final sprint to the front of Swanbourne House where spectators eagerly cheered them on. After the events, parents, staff and children mingled, enjoying refreshments after the awards.

We were happy to see so many other schools joining us for the event and would like to thank all the staff and pupils who travelled to join us, and all of our own staff who managed the events.

It was a bittersweet day for our U13s on as they competed in their last ever rugby match at Swanbourne House. They did us proud against Cotthill School, displaying great energy and attitude on and off the field, with smart decisions and good defence lines.

Simultaneously, the U11s competed against Cotthill, showing good sportsmanship and commitment, pushing to the final whistle.

We have a National Champion!

A huge congratulations to Harry, who has been crowned UK Kart Series National Champion after an incredible season of racing. He has raced in 14 national events this season.

His dedication, focus and passion for go-karting have seen him compete across the country, achieving six wins, two second places and one third place across nine rounds. Harry races in the Bambino class (ages 6–8), reaching speeds of up to 45mph in fields of 25–30 karts. Harry now moves up to Cadet level, where the karts can reach speed of almost 70mph.

Under 9 girls were excited to welcome Beachborough School for an afternoon hockey fixture early in October. Our girls always show great team spirit, focus and resilience.

Swanbourne House is proud to have two astro-turf pitches that are suitable for a variety of sports, from hockey and football, to tennis and netball.

Our facilities, combined with our experienced team of specialist coaches and passionate teachers, ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow and excel. The culture of sport at Swanbourne House is one of character and sportsmanship, teaching our pupils to approach every challenge with determination and respect.

October brings with it a full programme of Rugby fixtures at Swanbourne House.

Swanbourne House is set within 55 acres of beautiful, open countryside. From the school buildings, it’s a short stroll down to the fields where the games take place.

With vast facilities like these we are able to play several games simultaneously, and warmly welcome other schools to compete on our home grounds.

It was a great start to the new term as we kicked off our first football practice session, welcoming both newcomers and those with experience.

Mr Kidd was on hand to guide the players through the rules and etiquette of the game, while supporting them as we build strong, confident teams.

We were delighted to welcome Bruern Abbey School to our very first golf fixture for the term.

Sixteen of our golfing Swanbournians – a mix of boys and girls – headed down to our 6-hole golf course to demonstrate their skills and compete against the visiting school.

Well done to all who took part! We look forward to many more fixtures in the coming weeks.
