As we celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday, we’re reminded of the incredible power of curiosity, that instinct to explore, to question, and to look a little closer at the world around us. His lifelong dedication to discovering and sharing the wonders of our planet continues to inspire generations to care about nature and all living things.
Inspired by this spirit of exploration, our Wildlife & Ecology Club have been embracing their own sense of curiosity by heading outdoors in search of minibeasts. Carefully turning over logs to examining leaves and soil, pupils have been discovering the hidden world beneath their feet, uncovering a variety of insects and small creatures that play such an important role in our ecosystems.
Through these hands-on experiences, pupils are not only learning about habitats and biodiversity, but also developing a deeper appreciation for the natural world. They have shown great enthusiasm, patience, and respect for the environment as they observe, identify, and discuss their findings together.
Moments like these help to nurture a lifelong interest in science and the outdoors, and at Swanbourne we encourage pupils to ask questions, make connections, and develop a sense of responsibility for protecting the world they are exploring.
Encouraging curiosity today, inspiring the explorers and environmental stewards of tomorrow.
