Cross Country success for Mr Seddon

Well done to Mr Seddon, Head of Science and Technology, for qualifying for the Inter-Counties Cross Country Race.

Recently Mr Seddon took part in the annual Buckinghamshire Cross Country Championships, which consists of nearly 7 miles (11k) of muddy off road running. With a time of 37.02 minutes Mr Seddon finished in 4th place qualifying him for the Inter-Counties Cross Country Race held in Loughborough in March.

Mr Seddon started running competitively at university and then joined Milton Keynes Athletics Club when he was 21. Since then he competes in road races and cross country, and has run 15:48 for 5km and 31:52 for 10km in the last few months.

“I’m hoping to run a half marathon in under 1 hour 10 minutes this year, and am hoping to run a marathon later in the year in under 2 hours and 30 minutes, which would be quite cool as it should put me in the top 100 of the whole race. Hopefully if I stay injury-free I’ll be able to train well for it!

For cross country I have the National Championships in Nottingham in February, and then the Inter-County competition in Loughborough in March which I’ll be competing for Bucks.

It is a lot of hard work, training early morning/late evenings (or both!) but I have made some great friends through it and feel the rewards are worth the effort!”                                      Mr Seddon, Head of Science and Technology
