Mindfulness Practice at Swanbourne House

At Swanbourne House School we offer pupils the opportunity to learn about and practise mindfulness.

It is taught as part of the curriculum in the 9s and also offered as a club to 10s and above.

The courses will resume when the pupils return to school, however in the meantime pupils have an opportunity to start a mindfulness journey at home.

Mindfulness is about training attention on what is happening, rather than worrying about what has happened or what could happen. It can help people feel calmer and less anxious, and can enhance wellbeing and learning.

As a member of the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP), the Swanbourne community has access to a daily live mindfulness practice during the schools closure. These are suitable for everyone – from those new to mindfulness to those who already have experience of mindfulness practice.

These sits offer a chance to have a daily pause, to refocus on how we can best take care of ourselves and, in turn, of others. Find out more at https://mindfulnessinschools.org/misp-sit-together/
