Adventures with Leon McCarron
At the start of term pupils were lucky enough to enjoy a visit from Leon McCarron for a wonderful talk and team building session.
Leon is a writer, BBC presenter and has navigated many documented adventures which include a 1000-mile loop of the Holy Land, riding across Patagonia on horseback and cycling over 14,000 miles across three continents.
Leon spoke to Swanbourne children about his adventures, inspiring them with tales of his achievements, world experiences and future plans. After some questions Leon set the pupils, in small groups, the task of mapping out his next venture. The students had to make decisions on: which continents, what countries, how long would it take, mode of travel, what to pack, who would they take with them, what were the risks?
