The Rugby School Poetry Prize

Last year Joaquin won The Rugby School Poetry Prize but sadly due to Covid, Rugby School were unable to invite him and other winners to attend a series of celebratory workshops. So it was with great excitement that Rugby School recently contacted us to invite Joaquin to their delayed creative writing workshop last month.

The workshop covered a great breath of skills from creative writing, ode writing, poetry techniques and analytical deep dives into Keats, as well as plenty of intense discussions and focussed writing. Joaquin participated with true gusto, great enthusiasm and did Swanbourne House School proud. Joaquin produced a superb ode, using his ode as a metaphor for the transiency of life.
