One of the many benefits of running a boarding timetable is that the extended day allows for a large number and wide range of activities to be offered to our children. These can be before school, during breaks, after school and into the early evening depending on the type of activity and age and academic commitments of the children.
The school understands that an important part of learning comes from socialising with peers as well as having an interest in activities outside of the classroom. Our activities programme is there to broaden children’s interests along with teaching them how to relate to peers and adults in an environment other than the classroom. Many activities will allow children to pursue excellence in their chosen interest, while others are there for the sheer fun and to build individuals self-confidence.
Activities offered in the Pre-Prep this term include ballet, choir, tennis, Pepperpot Perfect and Spanish. In the Prep, activities as diverse as archery, politics, engineering and theatre jazz dance are available to children. Some of the clubs are taught by our own staff and others by specialist peripatetic teachers.
Details of the 2017-18 Activity Programme for both Prep and Pre-Prep will be released towards the end of August.
